Youth and Young Adult Curriculum Coming in 2021!

During 2021, we will be launching some new lesson plans that are for middle school, high school, and young adults. These lessons are thematic (so you can really use them any time of year) and timely as they lift up some of the important topics of the day such as racial justice and healing, creation care, and equality.

Pauli Murray Lesson Plan Series

These lesson plans are delayed due to final work that needs to be done. We hope to release it soon!

Age Range: Middle School, High School, and Young Adult

This lesson plan series focuses on legendary civil rights activist, lawyer, and episcopal priest, Pauli Murray. Murray is an iconic figure in American history whose perseverance lead her to become the first African American woman to become an episcopal priest. This lesson plan series will examine Murray’s complex story that covers the gamut from faith to gender identity, and everything in between.

“Pauli Murray had an amazing life inside and outside of the church. The stories shared will be ones of inspiration and hope”

Racial Justice Lesson Plan Series

Starting February 17, 2021
Beginning at the start of Lent

Age Range: Middle School, High School, and Young Adult

2020 has been an awakening for Racial Justice in America and the world over. A number of tragedies have shed light on a problem that existed since America’s beginnings. Such a complex subject cannot even begin to be understood in one quick session, and that’s the reason for this series. This lesson plan series will cover community, racism, privilege, bias, and anti-racism among other subjects.

“We must walk the Becoming Beloved Community Path to work on our human biases. The stories shared will lead us to telling the truth, repairing the breach, and practicing the way.”

Creation Justice Lesson Plan Series

Starting April 4, 2021
Beginning the Easter Season

Age Range: Middle School, High School, and Young Adult

Protecting our environment is of the utmost important. If the pandemic has shown us anything, it’s that when we let up a bit, nature is given room to breathe and heal. In the coming years, whether or not the Earth remains inhabitable depends entirely upon us. This series will cover Creation Justice, a faith-based approach to environmental justice that both acknowledges the science while also showing deference to God.

“Caring for Creation is work that not only benefits our current generation but also future generations. The stories shared will show how the church can have a positive impact on this important work.”
